RE: Cooper City Rd. (Barstow)

If you continue down the road past where the fenced off area is, there are a few places off to the right where you can camp. (Near a small hill where people shoot target practice)...

They are still alive and well... and really, really busy. I'm sure that your issue will be resolved soon.

RE: Rear-ender - Right in the hitch

Sorry to hear you got hit Dave. Last year we were the first car hit in a 4 car rear ender collision. The hitch really saved us.. (range rover vs. chevy tahoe bumper- tahoe wins!) Our hitch was fine, bumper pushed in, and of course the front of the car where we were pushed into a Mercedes. I would recommend you take your car in for an estimate anyway to have them determine this. (I assume that if it was a BMW that hit you they were insured)?

RE: pets in toy hauler.

Put them in their crates.. they might not like it, and may pee or poop in their crates, but at least the mess would be contained. (Sounds like if they're spoiled, they may not be crated all too often). Make sure that you attach a small water cup (actually usually used for birds) to the inside of the crate door, so that they can't knock it over, and at least have a source of water. (You can fill the cup with ice and it won't splash going down the road). Good luck

RE: Veterans Day in the desert

FYI to those of you camping in the Spangler area Vetrans Day weekend... There is a trophy truck race that will be working on their course out of Charlies Place (Wagon Wheel ORV area) off Trona Rd. Exercise extreme caution while driving anywhere near Pipeline Rd. that weekend. There is a TWMC monthly "Fun ride" Enduro that will be pitting out of Teagle Wash. If you find yourself on a trail marked with pink ribbon, be advised YOU ARE ON A RACE COURSE and may get plowed down... Just a heads up....looks to be a very busy weekend out there.. I couldn't find anything that supports this Cori, do yo have the link? Trophy trucks are bad a**, but Training Wheel Enduro don't scare me at all :B It's on the TWMC members forum. We were going to pit out of Charlies place, but we were informed of the truck race (set up) by the BLM Ridgecrest office.

RE: Tell me about Cougar Buttes, CA

We run part of the more technical 3rd loop of our clubs enduro through there. Funny....so do we UMC?? TWMC... we are usually in the area 2-3 times a year for our monthly club "fun rides". BTW...did you do our enduro last weekend?

RE: Tell me about Cougar Buttes, CA

Are there are lot of park ranger patrols? Do you need a spark arrestor? We have one family member coming in from Arizona and what is legal there is sketchy here lol Yes, spark arrestors absolutely a must. Yes, fair amount of BLM rangers in the area as well

RE: Chevy 2500HD and Raptor 3612DS

We had a 2500 when we bought our raptor pulled great for 1 year, no issues but yes i was over weight, It can do it with no problem. We have had the dually now for almost 1 year and i feel more comfortable towing with it and i am with in specs and the 2500 wasnt 4x4, but i honestly feel there is no diff in the way the two towed. Gas or Diesel Barb

RE: Chevy 2500HD and Raptor 3612DS

We had a 2500HD Duramax, and traded it up the minute we bought our Raptor. (Before we even took delivery of it).. You really need a dually... There will be plenty of people that step in and say that you don't but I'm just sayin...

RE: Favorite Ground beef recipes, any new ones?

Cheeseburger Pie 2 cans crescent rolls 1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained 1 can tomato soup 6 slices american cheese Mix ground beef and tomato soup and let simmer while you assemble the crust. 1 can of crescent rolls for bottom of pie plate, make a crust. Pour in ground beef mixture. Top with slices of cheese. Make top crust. Bake until top crust browns. My mom used to make a cheeseburger pie, that was topped with mashed potatoes then cheese. How about meatloaf? Oven porcupines (meatloaf with rice in it, baked with a tomato sauce over the top), Tamale Pie (chili, with corn, kidney beans, etc, topped with jiffy cornbread mix) Swedish meatballs, Italian meatball sandwiches, etc... I think I could go on all day....

RE: Please suggest a red wine.

Probably a Syrah would be one of the sweetest of the reds..although no reds are really going to be that sweet.... Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Merlot are all reds as well, but not as sweet....big bold flavors, lots of tannins which are the "scrubbing bubbles" that you are looking for.. I believe that white wines also are good for the heart...try for a sauvignon blanc, or fume blanc. They are sweeter than their dry counterparts (chardonnay, pinot grigio, etc)....

RE: AGW 3

I'm thinking, to avoid any confusion that we should rename this event for this year to ADW (All Dudes Weekend) :B Wont matter what you call it you will still get rebel girls like me asking where the girls weekend is!:B Somewhere in Palm Springs at a resort, with a pool and swim up bar. Cute cabana boys running around in banana hammocks...

RE: Packing it in 12' Garage

Okay now we have two more things to figure out... Did you get rid of the trailer of the Rhino? Is a ranger really better for the 5 seater, and is it as good as a Rhino? I've never seen a 5 seater Rhino unless you're talking about a bench back seat instead of bucket seats. (You would have to have realllllyy little kids to fit that one..) IMHO The Ranger has a longer wheel base making it not as agile, and easier to get "high sided". We have some friends with the ranger, and it just can't go where we can...
